Yo ho ho and a bottle of … BOURBON!! Happy National Hot Buttered Rum Day!
We’re putting our spin on this comfort food in a mug by replacing rum with our Southern Star Bourbon Whiskey! It’s snowing here in Statesville and we’re keeping warm this Whiskey Wednesday with this delicious concoction:
HOT BUTTERED BOURBON
1.5 ounces Southern Star Bourbon Whiskey
1 ounce Hot Buttered Rum mix
Dash Angostura bitters
1 pound brown sugar
1 pound confectioners sugar
1 quart softened vanilla ice cream
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
To make the Hot Buttered Rum batter, melt butter in a large pot. Blend in the brown sugar and confectioners sugar. Remove from heat and whisk in ice cream, cinnamon and nutmeg. Pour into a container and freeze.
